After over decade of racing silver cars, Porsche changed to the correct white for Germany, and had color-coded highlights to aid in identifying the cars at a distance.
As the Ford vs. Ferrari battles raged on, Porsche kept with their 2-liter prototype tradition. There were actually two cars that were developed in parallel: the squat 910 that was at home on the twisty corners of the Targa Florio and Nurburgring, and the stretchy 907 that was optimized for the long straights of Le Mans.

When the CSI limited prototypes to 3 liters, Porsche saw an opening as Ferrari declined to enter the championship. The 907 would get an uprated engine before the arrival of the 908 at the Nurburgring.
